The short version

Powered by Search is the right choice for a venture-backed B2B SaaS company between roughly Series A and Series C that wants a small, senior team running paid search, paid social, SEO and landing-page conversion work as one program against a pipeline number. It is a demand generation agency first and an ABM agency second: it will run one-to-many account-based advertising as part of a broader program, but it does not sell strategic account planning, stakeholder mapping or the one-to-one work that enterprise ABM teams buy from a consultancy. Founded in Toronto and run by CEO Dev Basu, it has stayed deliberately small at roughly 25 to 50 staff, lists a $10,000-plus minimum project size on Clutch, and carries a 4.9 out of 5 Clutch rating. We rank it fourth of 15 in the ranked directory, behind Directive mainly on scale and depth of public proof rather than on quality of reviews.

What Powered by Search actually does

Powered by Search sells integrated demand generation for software companies, planned from a revenue target backward. The agency packages this as the "Predictable Growth Method," a framework it publishes on its own site that starts with a pipeline model, allocates budget across channels based on where the model says qualified pipeline is cheapest, and then executes and reports against that model monthly. In practice the delivery team for a typical client is a strategist plus specialists in paid media, SEO and conversion optimization, with the strategist owning the pipeline number.

Paid search and paid social

Paid media is the agency's original competency, as the name suggests, and Google Ads remains a core channel for most of its clients. LinkedIn is the second pillar for B2B SaaS; the agency runs sponsored content, conversation ads and thought-leader ads within broader programs, and pairs LinkedIn with Google so that search captures demand that LinkedIn has created. Meta is used more selectively, typically for retargeting and lower-cost lead magnets. The agency's public content argues consistently for measuring paid media on qualified pipeline and closed-won revenue rather than lead volume, which puts it in the same camp as Directive and Refine Labs on measurement philosophy. We covered how it compares on LinkedIn specifically in the LinkedIn Ads agencies roundup.

SEO and content

SEO is delivered as a pipeline channel, not a traffic channel: keyword selection is filtered by purchase intent and mapped to product and comparison pages before blog content. For SaaS companies with a real product-led or free-trial motion this tends to be where Powered by Search's programs show the best cost per opportunity over 12 months, because search demand compounds while paid demand does not.

Conversion-rate optimization and landing pages

This is the service that most distinguishes the agency from other paid-media shops of its size. Powered by Search puts unusual effort into landing pages, form design and demo-request flows, and treats CRO as part of every paid engagement rather than an add-on. That matters because in the public LinkedIn benchmarks the difference between a $150 and a $350 demo-request cost per lead is usually the page and the form, not the ad.

HubSpot and marketing operations

The agency works primarily in HubSpot and will handle lifecycle stages, lead routing, attribution reporting and dashboarding as part of a retainer. It is not a systems integrator; companies with heavy Salesforce and Marketo stacks should confirm the team's depth on those platforms before signing.

Where ABM fits

Powered by Search does not position itself as an account-based marketing agency, and buyers should not treat it as one. What it does deliver is one-to-many ABM as a targeting and measurement layer on paid social and display: building target account lists from the client's ICP, uploading them as matched audiences on LinkedIn and Meta, and reporting engagement and pipeline at the account level. That is the same execution pattern an in-house team can run with an ABM advertising platform, which is why the agency versus platform question is relevant here. Companies that need account selection, intent-data integration, executive-level stakeholder mapping or bespoke content per account should look at the strategic-tier agencies in the directory instead.

Pricing model

Powered by Search does not publish prices. Two things are verifiable. First, its Clutch profile lists a minimum project size of $10,000 or more, which matches Directive and Ironpaper and sits above the $5,000-plus floor listed by Six & Flow. Second, its engagements are structured as monthly retainers with a defined scope of channels and deliverables, not hourly billing or percentage-of-spend fees.

Table 2. Powered by Search pricing structure compared with peer agencies. Sources: Clutch profiles; agency sites. Retainer ranges are directory estimates from the ABM agency pricing page, not published rates.

Six & Flow$5,000+Projects and retainers$5,000–$15,000 / monthClutch profile
Refine LabsNot publishedRetainerNot publishedAgency site

Practically, a company should budget for the retainer plus media. Media spend is billed directly to the client's ad accounts and is not marked up, based on the agency's public description of its model; confirm this in the proposal, because percentage-of-spend fees are still common in the category. On a $30,000 monthly media budget across LinkedIn and Google, a $15,000 retainer works out to a 50 percent management load, which is high compared with the 10 to 20 percent a pure media-buying shop charges but is buying strategy, SEO and CRO that a media buyer does not provide. If you only need media buying, this is the wrong agency and the wrong price.

Clients and proof

Powered by Search publishes case studies on its own site and they skew to a specific profile: venture-backed B2B SaaS companies with a sales-assisted motion, average contract values in the tens of thousands of dollars, and an in-house marketing team of one to five people. The case studies typically report pipeline or demo-request growth and cost-per-opportunity reductions over six to twelve months rather than lead-volume numbers. We do not reproduce client logos here because the roster changes and the agency site is the authoritative source; check it before an RFP and ask for two current references in your ACV band during the evaluation.

The agency's other public proof is its content. Dev Basu and the team publish long-form material on SaaS marketing planning, pipeline modelling and paid media, and the "Predictable Growth Method" framework is documented openly enough that a buyer can read it before a sales call and decide whether the philosophy fits. That transparency is a point in the agency's favour relative to peers whose methodology lives entirely in the pitch deck.

Clutch rating and what it means

Powered by Search holds a 4.9 out of 5 rating on Clutch, the highest of any performance-tier agency in our directory and a tenth of a point above Directive's 4.8. Two caveats apply. Clutch reviews are solicited by the agency, so a high score reflects satisfied clients the agency chose to ask, and the review count matters more than the decimal: Directive has more than 100 reviews, while Powered by Search, being a much smaller firm, has a smaller base. Read the individual reviews for the engagement type that matches yours, look for clients in your ACV range, and treat the score as a floor on quality rather than a ranking signal. The rating and review count should be checked live on Clutch before you rely on them; they change.

Who it fits, and who it does not

Good fit

B2B SaaS companies between Series A and Series C, with a sales team that can work inbound demo requests, a HubSpot stack, and a monthly media budget somewhere between $15,000 and $100,000. Companies in that band get a senior, stable team, a planning framework that ties spend to pipeline, and landing-page work that most agencies of this size do not offer. Founders or VPs of marketing who want one partner for paid, SEO and CRO instead of three vendors will find the integration genuinely useful.

Poor fit

Enterprises running one-to-one or one-to-few ABM against a named list of 50 accounts; companies whose primary stack is Salesforce and Marketo with complex routing; companies that only want media buying and want to pay 10 to 20 percent of spend for it; and companies with media budgets above roughly $250,000 a month, where a larger agency with dedicated channel teams will scale better. Companies that need in-house ownership of ABM advertising should also compare the retainer against running a platform directly; the agency versus platform page lays out the trade-offs, and abmadvertisingplatform.com compares the platforms.

Our verdict

Powered by Search is the best small-agency option in this directory for growth-stage SaaS demand generation, and its Clutch rating backs that up. It is not an ABM agency in the strategic sense, so enterprises with named-account programs should look elsewhere. Shortlist it alongside Directive and Refine Labs, ask for references in your ACV band, and get the media-fee structure in writing.

Frequently asked questions

Is Powered by Search an ABM agency?

Not in the strategic one-to-one sense. It is a B2B SaaS demand generation agency that runs paid search, paid social, SEO and conversion optimization against pipeline targets. It can execute one-to-many account-based advertising within that, but companies that need account selection, stakeholder mapping and bespoke account plans should look at a strategic ABM consultancy.

How much does Powered by Search cost?

It does not publish rate cards. Its Clutch profile lists a $10,000-plus minimum project size, and engagements are monthly retainers. Expect the retainer to sit in the $10,000 to $25,000 per month band typical of mid-market SaaS demand gen programs, excluding media spend.

What is Powered by Search's Clutch rating?

4.9 out of 5 at the time of writing, the highest of any performance-tier agency in our directory. Check the current score and review count live on Clutch.

Does Powered by Search work with companies outside SaaS?

Its public case studies and positioning are almost entirely B2B software and technology. Non-software B2B companies should ask for relevant references before engaging; a generalist agency may be a better fit.

Where is Powered by Search located?

Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It serves clients across North America remotely, and pricing is typically quoted in U.S. dollars for U.S. clients; confirm currency in the proposal.
